About

The UCL Academy is dedicated to education according to 'stage not age'. This means that students will study courses appropriate to their level of readiness, rather than a set of courses traditional for a particular age of student. To that end, we have dispensed with the term 'Sixth Form'. This refers to a time when Year 11 students, then called '5th Form', transitioned to the next stage, which therefore became 'Sixth Form'.As the 5th Form was re-named Year 11 over twenty years ago, it seems illogical to us to retain the term 'Sixth Form'.AS and A-Level students are therefore referred to as 'Level 3' students at the Academy. Please don't be confused by this. You will soon get used to it.
